Right now we have tentatively set the date for November 15th. My fear is that the river will not have been stocked by then. The 22nd is the Louisiana outing and I don't want to schedule this the same weekend.
It seems we have three options:
a) Keep it on the 15th and hope to Hades that they stock fish. b) Do it the Thanksgiving weekend. By Friday night you will so sick of your guests that you will do anything to get out of the house. c) Make it the November outing in December and have it December 6th.
I'd like to start preliminary work on this, so please give me your thoughts on dates if you are interested in going.
If you wish to stay at Drifters, please let me know. We have a limited number of spaces available. If you already have contacted Drifters directly and have reservations currently , that is fine, otherwise, please let me know and I will get you a spot.
Tracy & I went down to the ponds in Puck's subdivision this morning. The conditions weren't bad, but the fish were not real aggressive. In 2 1/2 hours, I caught a bream about the size of my hand and a 12" catfish, both on a #10 black woolly bugger. Had one other follow. Tracy almost caught a small turtle but he got off.
We may go back tomorrow, depending on the weather.
While we have a few traditional outings (POC one fly, Prison Permit, Redfish Rodeo), we also have room for other outings. I'd like to solicit from you some suggestions on places that you might like to fish. Please post your suggestions here and if feasible, I'll try to get them on the 2015 schedule.
If you haven't noticed, we have updated the sign-up sheets to include boat information. When signing up for an outing, please indicate if you have a boat and how many people (including yourself) it can hold. If one or more of the spots in your boat is already reserved, please note that on the outing thread and/or let the outing leader know.
If you signed up for a future outing previously, please verify that your name is on the new list as many names were erased during the update.
