Topic is unlocked. Let's get a group together for this day trip and have some fun!  :)

Well, those of us who came had a good time. Fishing was slow, but the weather was gorgeous. GRTU stocked fish throughout the morning, but they were still in shock and not apt to bite. I caught an 18" female on a bead-head zebra nymph and Paul caught two small fish, but on different flies than he started with.  I don't know how Travis did, but if I have to name a winner of the one-fly, I guess it was me.

I made dinner reservations for six people at 7:30 pm Saturday night at Gennaros.

You might check the signup sheet and give one of the guys with a boat a call. Looks like most of us will be kayaking.

Rumor has it that there will be another stocking of fresh fish the day of the outing.

Don't forget, one week from this Saturday! Guadalupe one-fly! Food, fun, fish!

For my lifetime bucket list, I'd love to fish Patagonia & Kamchatka. Maybe throw in the Seychelles as well. Probably be lucky if I make it to South Padre and/or Port Mansfield.

Thank you, Mike and same to you and your family!

I am thinking that those up there Friday evening could meet at Lucky's for dinner. I don't think Tracy & I will be there in time.

For Saturday, where would everyone like to eat? Genaro's is always very popular, but we could try somewhere new like Oma's or the Gristmill. Please let me know what you would like. I will make reservations about a week - ten days out.

Here is a pretty good thread over on Tx Kayak Fisherman on directions to the boat ramp. I hope this is of some help:

Dennis, if some of the guys want to go in on a room together, that's fine. But as far the club going out and booking a place, we aren't doing that anymore.

I'll bring my kayak.

If you want a place to stay, you'll need to make arrangements yourselves. We are not doing room reservations this year.

I recommend Maricopa Riverside Lodge.

I prefer them to Rio Guadalupe.
