What are the costs for kids to fish?

I might bring out my little boy and let him fish but I wouldn't really be able to fish myself. He's only 3 and a half so he's not quite ready for fly fishing.

I'm going to have to gauge the rib on this one. She's due to bring forth another of my spawn precisely one month prior to this. Maybe I can convince my mother to come help out so I can get away.

I'm in but if somebody needs a kayak, let me know. I have one they can borrow and I'll be pissed of they bail because I don't want to leave it at the launch while I fish.

Yeah Puck offered the trade up a day or two too late. I ordered a ton from iFly that should last me at least a year.

So we just adjusted the terms a bit. I'm a wheeler-dealer. If I'm not making deals I'm not happy.

There's a lot of shoreline & flats you can wade effectively immediately east of the meeting spot.

And you guys quit your b*&%$ng about the wind. If you can just get (paddle) to a good wade-able location you can fish. wind or no wind. Yea if it is 30 mph that's different but you have to expect the wind to be 20+ by noon. That the TEXAS coast. Man Up! If Ron brings his sail craft he can pull you like last year.

I'll fish in 20. 30mph is damn near impossible to fly fish.

I might have about a half a brick of .22LR but that's it.

Lightly used 10wt line? I have both floating (SA Mastery series WF10F) and intermediate sink-tip (Orvis Wonderline 3 WF10I) I'd trade.

So I've yet to become addicted to tying flies and as such need a source for my crack.

Redfish crack that is. If somebody will tie me up a dozen or so, say half with lead eyes and half with bead-chain eyes I'd pay $5 apiece if I can get them before the Xmas Bay outing.

Gracias.

I'm in and have 2 kayaks so if somebody needs to borrow one they're welcome to do so.

That being said, it's still early spring and if we get the quite common howling winds I may reconsider the trip.

Also- if anybody is willing to tie me up several redfish crack flies I'll happily pay a fair price. Whether it's cash, beer or whiskey.

Outing Chat / Christmas Bay 3/29 - redfish crack flies wanted/needed
« on: March 11, 2014, 11:57:03 AM »
So with the Xmas Bay trip coming up and me not really a tyer of flies yet I was hoping to prevail upon the folks who do tie to tie me up a mess of redfish crack- some with lead eyes and some with bead-chain.

I will happily pay a fair price for a dozen or so.

Talk to the MUD boards in the neighborhoods. A lot of them will donate some funds for stocking.

I'm getting insights from the AgriLife Extension service at A&M to get help to plant native aquatic plants in the lakes in my neighborhood. And I'm trying to get the 3 MUDs in the neighborhood to donate like $5000 apiece for stocking. Mostly a lot of boat fish and panfish but some bass too.

The plants & baitfish will filter & clean the water so you don't have a muddy hole. Once I get them on board I'll get the HOA to stop dying the ponds.

Nicely done Joe.

BTW- definitely going back next year but I was disappointed with the restaurants in the area. I think I'll make it a point to cook next time. Especially if Scott gets a bigger place like he was talking about.
