Well that will give us all something to talk about at tonight's meeting!

An addiction for which there is fortunately neither a cure nor a rehab program!

Nice fish and a nice video...

I signed up a while ago, and will be there with the Beavertail.

Looking forward to being on the "Pavon Paella Posse!" Looking forward to that dinner - I'll bring the rum and limes!  8)

Nice Puck! You been dipping one of your hare-e flies in gulp juice?

Well done and nice report! Great to see that pods are active in the marsh... Any idea what they were feeding on?

Can't wait to get out there!

General Discussion / Re: Fishing in Abu Dhabi
« on: May 14, 2014, 05:48:58 AM »
I was in Abu Dhabi some months ago, and looked for fishing opportunities in the area. You're right - very limited. Despite the beautiful waters it seems that nobody goes fishing. Inquiring locally I found that it is pretty fished out (verified?); not much there. I was kinda disappointed. Better luck if you could make a weekend in Oman from what I remember. Diving is pretty good, though.

Lots of other things to do though - desert safaris, dinner cruises, formula 1, drive around in a rented ferrari...

Would be interested to hear if you come up with anything.

Mike, Mike, Mike... that's not snoring, it is merely the sound of contentment. Only happens when I drink too much. And... I drank too much.  :o Shocked I know.

One of the best times one can have when not catching any fish. Not for lack of trying, though, covered a lot of water. When we found clear (ish) water there were no fish. Huh. Some very experienced anglers came away with the skunk.

Yeah - great job Justin for towing those guys all the way back to the dock. I saw that G3 go by heading west, and thought they looked a little out of place out there on the bay. Running out of gas, with no gps? They were lucky - could've run out of gas in the intracoastal with heavy barge traffic. I'll bet they install a gps and learn to watch their fuel...

Had a great time, guys - looking forward to the next one! POC jetties will be a blast!

Great Travis - glad you can make it and won't spend your weekend choosing drapery fabrics.

And... if you really want a steak I suggest stopping at Jay's Chili Shack and ordering one to go. Good luck!  :o Alternately you can dig in elbow deep into the big pile of shrimp that will come off the boiler. Come hungry!

Travis - give Mike Q a call... he can advise on any available boat spots.

I agree with Michael... don't get caught hanging sconces (whatever those are)!

I'm in! Signed up and will be ready to go. Really looking forward to this one, I've never been able to align schedules and make this event. Camping on the island... cool!

Jetty fishing - gotta be ready for big fish. Sounds like I need to go shopping for heavy bite tippet and big chicken-looking flies.

Okay - if you haven't signed up you gotta confirm soon, I'm going grocery shopping for a Friday night Shrimp Boil. Come hungry! Oh - and maybe thristy too  ::)! We have fiften people on the list thus far - so if you'd like to sit you might consider bring a lawn chair.

Bill - still planning on the use of your equipment. If not I can easily bring mine...

See you down there; will be a blast

General Discussion / Re: When to use a full sinking fly line?

Ok Puck... thanks for keeping us focused.

From my perspective, a full sinking line is best used....hey there's a hummingbird! Got to put out the feeder.

Ah, sorry to disappoint guys, but I no longer have an offshore-capable boat. Sold the Hydra-Sports when I bought the Beavertail.

So - unless we can reach weedlines from the skiff we'll need another plan. So let's start working on one!
