Get ready for the "Texas FlyFishers Shrimp, Shrimp, and Shrimp Extravaganza!" The Bayou Boilers cooking team led by master chefs Mike Frankoff and George Sutherland and others are already preparing for the Captain's Dinner Friday evening, so make sure you make it to Rabe House in time - we're boiling for 30 people. Club is not picking up the tab for this one, so we'll have a tip jar handy for contributions. Count on $15 a person; quite a deal.
Except for Bear, he may need a heavier contribution. He once said to me, while we were at Cathy's buffet, "Oh, I was full a long time ago. But I don't eat till I'm full, I eat till I fall asleep!" So you might want to get in line before Bear. Sheesh
And I'm really looking forward to Saturday's paella - watching John put that dish together is not ony delicious, but quite a spectator sport. Pull up a chair and a bottle of rum and watch the master work.
