Yeah... but once the Muy Guapo is back on the water it is "look out redfish!"

Sorry to hear of your rods, Mike, but a good excuse to upgrade. I may ask you to throw out a couple of mine  :o

Installed new electronics this year, included the Navionics Platinum Plus chip. Still learning its use, but absolutely love it. Think of it as Google earth on your GPS. When fishing the LLM a few weeks back it was superb...

Stop thinking about it and go buy one!

Flip Pallot? Rob Fordyce? Chico Fenandez? Stu Apte?

I think all these guys fish the keys. Just being helpful... you're welcome.

Not sure about otter dubbing, but any ideas out there about poodle dubbing? Because there's this really annoying, yappy little dog next door...

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all the TFF'ers and families. We've soooo many blessings to  count this season. We've enjoyed a great year of club activities this year - fishing, tying flies, promoting our sport at the Holder fishing show, showing our skills at our expo, meeting many new friends along the way. Who can tell what 2015 might bring...can't wait!

And thanks Golden for the well wishes. For those who are not aware, my daughter Clare has been battling cancer. Starting radiation and chemo next Monday. We've really appreciated the prayers and kind wishes expressed by so many. Will be a long fight but we're up for it...gloves are on the ice.

Looking forward to many great times in 2015! Merry Christmas to all!

I'm in... sign me up! Let's reserve a cabin at Rio Raft (let's also count beds as well as bedrooms), fill it up with air mattresses, fly fishermen and bourbon. Always a great trip and a highlight of the year. We should contact the Alamo Fly Fishers, that was fun last year. Arrange a big dinner at Genarro's in Startzville (Bear will like that), and we'll have us a time!

I like Mike's idea of a TFF woodsie, but I'm frankly not too sure what that means.

Maybe we'll catch some fish too!

Let's make this one happen... January is right around the corner!  ;D

Great stuff Matt - never let a business trip get in the way of fly fishing, right? I'm thinking I need to arrange a business meeting somewhere down near Venice Louisiana...  8)

Sounds like you are getting quite comfortable with that snazzy new Orvis rod... and it with you. Maybe some black electrical tape on the reelseat would make your casting more comfortable?  :o

Would love to join you one of these days on the bayou - a few poppers, woolly buggers, and shiners sounds like a very pleasant afternoon.

Wow! What a trip Matt - I shall live vicariously through your fly fishing adventures!  8)

Good list Puck...

I will have two VHF's in the event a vehicle needs one. Also a tow strap, a set of jack boards, shovel. Cannot have too much of that stuff.

Also - I am willing to bring several packages of speckled trout fillets (full disclosure - frozen, beginning to age and need to be eaten) if there is interest. Plenty to feed everyone. I'm thinking a quick/ easy fish fry on Friday night. Maybe Puck will let me use his propane burner and cast iron skillet; I'll bring all the ingredients and canola oil.

Deal? Interested?
