Northern Pike (Esox Lucius) in the Boundary Waters, or Chain Pickerel (Esox niger) in our local waters.

We will be targeting sheepshead, white bass, and black bass shortly.

All take different flies.

Everybody has their favorites.

Ready to get on the water?

I have the marine Goop (R) on hand, but will order the 3M marine sealant 4000.

Never thought of contact cement, but used to use it when I worked with leather.  I'll pick some up and experiment.

Tying Chat / Reversed "Green Weenie"... video added
« on: December 24, 2014, 04:24:20 PM »
This is based off of Les Lehman, Jr's fly presented in "Texas Saltwater Classics: Fly Patterns for the Texas Coast " by Greg Berlocher (ISBN-10: 0929980190)

I've reversed the colors to make the body black, and the hackles green.

Scott Null is the one that introduced me to this fly at the 2012 DERFTF.

This fly allowed me to land 4 sheephead during the February 2014 Prison Permit.

Rendezvous 2015, 30 Oct - 01 Nov

Fly Tying
Stories told
Friends made

Held at North Toledo Bend State Park, Walter McLendon leads the event.

Directions from Houston

2907 North Toledo Park Road
Zwolle, Louisiana 71486

Rendezvous is the result of several fly fishermen gathering to fish and tie flies at the state park many years ago. After a couple of years of growing pains they found the park's group facility. And what a facility indeed! A capacity of 150 people in 5 heated log bunkhouses (30 beds each), a heated central shower and restroom building with nice night lighting on all the sidewalks and a large main log building with A/C, a commercial kitchen, dining hall, fireplace, a long front porch, picnic table and a large barbeque trailer out front.

We begin gathering before 3 PM on Friday when the park staff unlocks the facility. Families and individuals check in at the main office and ask for their FREE Parking pass for the "Fly Fishing Group".

More details as the event gets closer
