Sell Anything / Solid wooden desk.
« on: February 01, 2015, 09:05:26 AM »
While looking for a new fly tying table I ran across this on TKF, and contacted the seller. (Board name of CoastieCulture)

For $40 it would be a great desk for fly tying or anything else.  Since it is being stored in a garage, it needs some TLC, but you can see that the wood is solid, not pressboard.

Contact the seller at:  94zero-53five-8869

Direction from Houston

I'm asking for a few more volunteers.

If we meet at 0645 at the flag pole, we can have coffee before moving into the building to get registered as visitors.

We only have 2 classes to support, not 3 like last year.

Please forward this to any others that you think may be willing to help.

I like the idea, and may use a modification of that for my front-mounted PINS basket.

My question is: What tool do you use to make the cuts?

Does anybody have any experience with this fly line? I'm due to update 2 of my 5wt lines this year.
Airflo Ridge (R)

I wound up buyin this line for the new panfish rod.  It casts great, but it is noisy as it zings through the guides.

This Friday is the casting practice with the high school class.

I hope the crew from last year can join us again, and perhaps we can get a few more volunteers?

My white bass launch for Stupor Brawl Sundae is out of commision.   :(

And TB PGC is operating at one generator 24/7.  Too much flow to be comfortable in a kayak.

Looking for another back-up plan.

How does Sommerville look?

Great job!

The picture must weigh 10 pounds....

Contacts? (Yes, I see the link)

Your public wants to know.

I may have to add this one to my guided trips next year.

Let me know when.

2 of us presented in front of 50+ high school students today, 2015-01-16.

By the end of the class the young folks were excited about being able to get on the water, and were full of unanswered questions.

I am once again completely out of TFF business cards.   ;D

The casting session is now in 2 weeks.

Let the fun continue!!

Fly lines meant for cold weather will work fine in warm weather.  The reverse is not the case.

Why I've asked for suggestion on lines for Nilo's 4wt...

I've had my trout lines, that worked perfectly on Colorado, and Pennsylvania, feel gummy and limp here on our local ponds.

And I've had lines that I use for redfish coil up into an uncontrollable mess when fishing for sheephead in the winter.

Tying Chat / How to paint stainless steel bead chain?
« on: January 12, 2015, 10:49:26 AM »
I bought a 6ft lenght of pie shelll chain.

The material is stainless steel, and should hold up to saltwater as it is, but I wanted to modify the center spot to imitate eyes better.

I also wanted to tie up some super heavy "swamp monsters" for June.
