Glad to hear someone is fishing Chocolate Bay. Forty years ago that was one of the two places I would fish. Christmas Bay was the other.

Have you tried the horse shoes in Bastrop Bayou? Or Lost Lake?

Back in those days, the oysters were eatable. Kind of nice to anchor on top of the reef and fish the deeper water toward the shoreline. Between fish, enjoy reaching over the side get a cluster of oysters, pop 'em open and wash down with a  warm beer.  Then the   pollution moved in.

Yes, there is a raffle.

We have been able to convince Mr. Arnold  that a raffle of some good stuff may help participation.

Details to follow this weekend.

Here are the details:

I'll work with our Webmaster to get them into a better format.

What do you need from me?

George brought 5 of the club rods to the fly tying class last night.

IIRC, there are 7 rods. Anyone know where the other 2 are?

WOB is wide enough that your rod may  reach half way across.

All of the bayou should be under the juris diction of the Harris county flood control district. That would be water level upto the overflow bank.  Lots of places no vehicle traffic allowed but foot trails abound.

If Nilo picked the colors, then I  would suggest "YOU GO CATCH A FISH ON IT"

What y ou say is most like the cause for a lifeless pond. However there is one other to be considered.

A bunch of years ago I went to the park/pond at South Post Oak and 610 for some casting lessons.  Friday the lawn was mowed and fertilised. That night it rained. When  we got there the ponds were covered with dead fish.

Ray R is fishing the Columbus area. Harry C raved about it at the FTF.

Google shows a RV park about 4 stream miles up from Smithville with river access and take out point at the bridge in town.

LCRA has a kayak/canoe trail all the way to the gulf.  One such , community of Plum to La Grange. Half day float. Check their website.

Kevin H  lives at Roseanky and guides  the river. Someone in TFF took that float a few years ago.

Along the line of salinity, how much has the daming of the Trinity at Livingston affected the  pp/m count?

Hit Marcus up at the next meeting, ask him to schedule some club sponsored casting classes.
