I personally have the Uniden from Academy which is probably least expensive. The Icom is more top of the line. I keep mine in a dry bag.

Chris,
I would be interested in your CD. Maybe could bring to July meeting? Also would love to have you help at the expo.

I printed out 23 knots from www.netknots.com

I was aware of "knot wars". I was looking for a knot for tying flurocarbon leaders to braid. I have been using the Albright. I have read that the "Yucatan Knot" was stronger than the Albright.

There are lot of knots that are useful from the www.netknots.com

I'll take a look at Puck's site also.

Midcurrent e-mail just had information on "Davy's Knot" and "Jack's Knot" . (not Klinger)

I have volunteered to have a knot tying table at mini expo in August. I am not an expert in knots and will learn more than I know now. Asking for ideas from people who have presented before. Also would like for members to show me what knots they are using so I can pass them on.

I am thinking about having fly tying vises with hooks to practice on as well as large cords (1/4 inch) to visually see knots. I have the "Little Redbook of Knots" and a few others.

First trip to Port Mansfield. Was a bait casting trip with Captn Trisha from Skinny Water Adventures. I asked her about places to sight cast for redfish. I want to go back. We fished Friday and Saturday. I got two 24" trout on topwater on Friday and a 26" on Saturday. Got some reds on top also. She is a grinder. We waded only both days. Of course she outfished us.

Dave Kelly put up my pics on the home page. There were some small bass and perch caught. Puck caught a talipia and has a picture. Figure that one was sent down the toilet ::) We had a good time BS ing at the Citgo Station and had some decent BBQ and cold brews. Interesting seeing the flood plan around White Oak Bayou and all the empty lots and golf course. There were a few die hard people living in homes near the bayou.

John Carpenter, I am sure is very proud of Shelby. He taught her everything he knew and she improved it so much!
