Oh yeah George,

I would be glad to help in food prep or clean-up or both.

Got a 10wt with sinking line.  Learning how to cast - anyone interested in making a day trip to the beach south of Christmas Bay during the week.  I need some practice in the surf.

I no longer have a yak, so if anyone is taking a boat, I would like a ride.  If that does not happen, I can rent or borrow a yak.

Quig,

I need a boat ride and a bed or a spot to put an air mattress.  I will do a great job as recorder of the catch as well as everything else required of the guest on the boat.

OK,Puck, you talked me into it.  No kayak, but I will have the other equipment.  I have room for one in the jeep if anyone is still looking for a ride.

Incidentally, I will bring both an HF and a UHF/VHF rig with me.  So if we have a mishap, God forbid, I should be able to make contact from anyplace with someone to get us help.

Sell Anything / Hobie AI (sold) and Trailer for sale
« on: May 27, 2014, 06:53:48 AM »
I am going to sell my Hobie AI kayak.  :-\ :-\  I thought I would put it on this website first because most of you know me and the yak.  It is three years old.  It has been on the South Llano twice, the Christmas Bay a few times, Texas City Dyke, around Palacious bay a few times, plus some other bays and lakes.

Needless to say, there are some scratches on her.  I have enjoyed most of the trips I have taken her out on, but I am getting closer to 80 than I want to admit and I guess I should start acting my age.

Anyway, here is the deal – Hobie AI SOLD Trailer for kayak  $400, Magellan Depth Finder with battery $75.

Sorry about the late reply.

I got really busy here in CountryPlace and completely forgot about getting on the site.

Yeah, I missed the dock while stepping off of John's boat.  I have no idea what happened, but I must say that in the 65 or so years that I have been stepping on and off of boats in and around the bays along Texas I have never missed the dock before!  Now, I will add that I have had at least one person fall into the water when I was behind the wheel - it was my wife and she has not let me live that down, let me tell you!  Oh, well, there is always a first time!

I was hobbled for a couple of days, but not too badly.  The bruise never really materialized, however, I have had some pain and swelling in my lower leg and foot.  I applied an ice pack for the last week and that is most likely why I have had very little bruising.

I had a great time - drank a bunch more beer than usual - ate a lot more jalapenos than I should have - ate too much chilli - slept on my air mattress on the floor (and slept good) - got up right after Puck - ate too many breakfast tacos!  That about sums up the time before fishing.

I did my usual - lots of fishing but no catching.  I road with John and we both fished hard to no avail.  I don't think either one of us even say a fish!  I did hook up once, but did not get more than two strips before it was off the hook.  Must not have set the hook well enough and it was most likely a Hardhead anyway.

You know what they say - a bad day on the water is better than the best day doing anything else!

I hope I'm not too late! ::)  I would like a bunk and a ride if available.  I make good ballast if nothing else.

It looks like I will not be making this trip either!!!   :'( :'(  I couldn't be more tied up if I was getting paid!  Never - I mean - Never get involved with an HOA and a golf course - bad mistake.

I'll see everyone at the next meeting

I'm going to take my kayak to Christmas Bay Wednesday morning.  Anyone interested in meeting me down there?  I'll put in at the boat ramp on Seacoast drive.

Wouldn't you know it.  Sandy and I are going to finally get the 5th wheel out for a couple of nights and guess what?

It's when you all are going to Christmas Bay - one of my favorite spots!

Have fun everyone!
